On some Windows 8/8.1 and Windows Server 2012/2012 R2 systems the sppsvc     service failed to start, with the consequence that the operating system       and certain applications might have run in unlicensed notification modeThe "Software Protection Service" must be started before all others, otherwise the activation will not be read.However ... there is an easy modification in the registry to fix this...Open Registry Editor (as Administrator)Move to path: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\ThinRDPSrvIn the right pane you find value: DependOnServiceOpen via double click and add "sppsvc"RebootFirst please check if you have installed XP/VS Server version 1.0.525 or higher.If not please update to this version from http://www.thinstuff.com/releases/ThinstuffXPVSServer-latest-EN.zip

This issue was reported for some Windows 8/8.1 and Windows Server 2012/2012 R2 installations with enabled Application Compatibility mode. It should be fixed with Thinstuff XP/VS Version 1.0.710.

If you experience this issue first please check if you have installed XP/VS Server version 1.0.710 or higher.If not please update to the latest XP/VS Version!
